What does it mean by recreate?

On my art project paper, it says: The ignment is to recreate one work of art that your famous artist did. I choose to do Monet's garden at/of giverny the purple flowers. And i did it using tissue paper to pop up. I have no idea if im doing it wrong, cause people from my cl are doing paint, chalk, pastels, crayons, and pencil crayons. I wanted to be unique and do tissue paper.
