Is it ok to use images of hindu gods in my textile uni project? or cled as disrespectful? please help?

Im am doing my fashion degree at uni and am taking inspiration from Asia and Indian. I will be looking at clothes and colour for ideas into a textile collection. Would it be considered rude or disrespectful to use images of hindu gods in my sketch book work?
