Can you still be pregnant and have a period

ive been having whats seems like pregnancy symptoms like feeling very tired headaches dizzy spells sore throat sore gums lower backache twinges in my stomach and everything i eat and drink tastes differant and ive never had anything like that before..but i got period today but its early i should be due on friday and its quite light..so could i be pregnant or iam just living in hope...thanks for your ansewers
